Saint Vincent and the Grenadines does not have its own national airline, and there are no direct long-haul flights to the islands. Instead, flights must be taken to neighbouring islands and a prop plane can then be taken on to the islands. Prop services are offered by a number of companies, including LIAT, Air Martinique and Airlines of Carriacou, amongst others. Services are available from Trinidad, St Lucia, Martinique and Grenada. Flights from London to Saint Vincent take approximately nine hours, not including stop off or changeover time. From New York to St Vincent flights take around five hours, again not taking into account stop offs and changeovers. Kingstown’s airport offers taxis and bus services into town, along with duty free, bars, banks and restaurants, amongst other things. There are smaller airports on a number of the islands as well.
